Poetry Drop-in: Rivers

April 30, 2023, 11am-12pm PT via Zoom, $20-30 sliding scale

A river is a contested site. I return again and again to rivers, real and imagined. In "The First Water Is the Body," from Postcolonial Love Poem, Natalie Diaz writes, "Do you think the water will forget what we have done, what we continue to do?" On the last day of poetry month, I invite you to gather with me to read and discuss poems and try out a generative writing exercise re: rivers. You're welcome to join whether you've never written a poem before or have been writing for decades. No one turned away for lack of funds. More information & RSVP here.
